After studying at Ravensbourne College of Art, Chelsea School of Art & the Royal College of Art, Magda Archer (along with her great friend Peter Quinnell) founded the illustration duo Archer/Quinnell. After 10 years the friends broke up their partnership to pursue their sole interests. Magda went on to develop a recognisable kitsch aesthetic which she then used to document her navigation through the world. Archer’s work functions as a personal diary, nostalgically & humorously recording moments of everyday life; from sheer annoyance to unadulterated Joy.
Notable collaborations include working with Flying Leaps on their street posters, The Heritage collection with Jenny Packham, Commes des Garçons-on the C de G SHIRT campaign of 2012-and from 2019-20 the highly publicised Magda Archer X Marc Jacobs collaboration.
The Artist has three daughters & two terrier dogs. She lives & works in London.
