The melancholy sombreness of some portraits bring with it the realisation that ordinary can be both a sobering reality and something to be celebrated.

BACKGROUND STORY

The print is a reproduction of a special print edition done in collaboration with Jealous Gallery.

In contrast to Portrait of Heroes, Sober on Capitalism explores the sombreness of some painted portraits. Instead of the grandeur of the master painted portraits from Portrait of Heroes, the artists captured a true glimpse into their subjects’ lives - showing just how ordinary and melancholy they may have been. In a world that is obsessed with living a perfect life, perhaps we should view ordinary not as a sobering reality but as something to be celebrated. The upside of social media is that it allows us to puncture the facades that the rich and famous create, far quicker than before. In a world where you are made to feel like you need to be extra-ordinary, we need to see the beauty in the ordinary too.

UK & International Delivery

Standard Delivery: Royal Mail
For most orders, we use Royal Mail as our standard delivery partner. They offer reliable, well-tracked services across the UK and worldwide. Delivery times vary depending on destination, but you'll receive tracking information as soon as your order is dispatched.

Royal Mail is ideal for:

Premium Express Delivery: DHL
If you need your artwork sooner or prefer a fully expedited service, we offer DHL Express as a premium upgrade. DHL provides faster international transit times and enhanced tracking from door to door.

DHL is recommended for:

• Time-sensitive orders
• International customers wanting the quickest delivery
• Buyers who prefer a premium courier experience

Free Collection from the Gallery

You're welcome to collect your order free of charge from our gallery in Saffron Walden.

Choosing collection is especially important for larger or more delicate framed pieces. These works carry a higher risk of glass breakage when shipped via courier, so we strongly recommend collecting them in person whenever possible.

Once your order is ready, we'll contact you to arrange a convenient collection time.

RETURNS

In the unlikely event you wish to return your purchase please contact art@heathkane.co.uk within 14 days of receipt of your artwork and/or merchandise. Please include your order number, the reason for your return and whether you would prefer to exchange the item or receive a refund.

To be eligible for a refund your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. You are responsible for the cost of returning products for refund or exchange. We advise that you use a trackable shipping service to guarantee that we receive your returned item.

When you return your artwork to us, it is essential that you return it in perfect condition. If the artwork is damaged when it reaches us, we will be unable to offer a refund or exchange. For help and advice on packing your item for return please contact art@heathkane.co.uk.

FAULTY, DAMAGED OR WRONGLY SUPPLIED PRODUCTS

Should you be returning an item because it is faulty, damaged or has been incorrectly supplied please e-mail us photos of the damaged or incorrect product to art@heathkane.co.uk before initiating a return. 

Where an item is being returned because it is faulty, damaged or has been incorrectly supplied then we will refund the cost of item, the original shipping cost for the item and the cost of the return postage (proof of cost is required). We advise that you use a trackable shipping service to guarantee that we receive your returned item.

Refunds and replacements will be granted at the discretion of Art by Heath Kane.

Our returns policy excludes artworks that are made to order. These cannot be returned unless they are faulty.
