Who wants to be a billionaire?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously once said ‘you don’t make a billion dollars, you take a billion dollars’. It would take someone on a million-dollar salary a thousand years to make their first billion (or 20,000 years to make 200 billion). Nobody could ever earn enough money in their lifetime to become a billionaire.
Whilst the media celebrates their achievements, shouldn’t the rest of us be questioning how these people got so rich? For every billionaire in our world; there are millions of people going without.
Free ride is an expression of the exploitation of workers by billionaires.
