Small Boats by Dan Cimmermann

Dan graduated from Leeds Met University in 2001 with a first-class honours degree in Fine Art. His artistic practice revolves around large-scale figurative mixed media paintings, primarily using oil as his medium. Drawing inspiration from both traditional fine art and street art, Dan explores themes related to Britishness. He delves into what it means to be British, how other nations perceive our country, and the behaviour of Brits abroad (including grand tours, holidays, and stag parties). Additionally, he reflects on the lingering impact of Britain’s imperial history and how it shapes contemporary life. Cultural misappropriation and instinctive human behaviours—such as fighting, dancing, and contemplation—are recurring motifs in his work. Furthermore, Dan’s art often engages with political issues and current affairs. His creative process involves layering and merging elements of drawing and painting, resulting in a balanced composition that reveals a clear narrative in hindsight.

Standard Delivery: Royal Mail
For most orders, we use Royal Mail as our standard delivery partner. They offer reliable, well-tracked services across the UK and worldwide. Delivery times vary depending on destination, but you'll receive tracking information as soon as your order is dispatched.

Premium Express Delivery: DHL
If you need your artwork sooner or prefer a fully expedited service, we offer DHL Express as a premium upgrade. DHL provides faster international transit times and enhanced tracking from door to door.

DHL is recommended for:

• Time-sensitive orders
• International customers wanting the quickest delivery
• Buyers who prefer a premium courier experience

Free Collection from the Gallery

You're welcome to collect your order free of charge from our gallery in Saffron Walden.

Choosing collection is especially important for larger or more delicate framed pieces. These works carry a higher risk of glass breakage when shipped via courier, so we strongly recommend collecting them in person whenever possible.

Once your order is ready, we'll contact you to arrange a convenient collection time.

RETURNS

In the unlikely event you wish to return your purchase please contact art@heathkane.co.uk within 14 days of receipt of your artwork and/or merchandise. Please include your order number, the reason for your return and whether you would prefer to exchange the item or receive a refund.

To be eligible for a refund your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. You are responsible for the cost of returning products for refund or exchange. We advise that you use a trackable shipping service to guarantee that we receive your returned item.

When you return your artwork to us, it is essential that you return it in perfect condition. If the artwork is damaged when it reaches us, we will be unable to offer a refund or exchange. For help and advice on packing your item for return please contact art@heathkane.co.uk.

FAULTY, DAMAGED OR WRONGLY SUPPLIED PRODUCTS

Should you be returning an item because it is faulty, damaged or has been incorrectly supplied please e-mail us photos of the damaged or incorrect product to art@heathkane.co.uk before initiating a return. 

Where an item is being returned because it is faulty, damaged or has been incorrectly supplied then we will refund the cost of item, the original shipping cost for the item and the cost of the return postage (proof of cost is required). We advise that you use a trackable shipping service to guarantee that we receive your returned item.

Refunds and replacements will be granted at the discretion of Art by Heath Kane.

Our returns policy excludes artworks that are made to order. These cannot be returned unless they are faulty.
