Richer Than - The Private View

Richer Than - The Private View

At the end of April, we launched our Richer Than charity exhibition in partnership with The Big Issue Foundation. The Private View was held on Thursday 21st April at the Fabrix owned property Roots in the Sky. The venue, formerly Blackfriars Crown Court, was a working renovation site and served as the perfect raw and rustic backdrop for the exhibition.

Launching on the Queen’s birthday, the private view was attended by guests and famous faces from London and further afield who were able to view and bid on the 50 pieces of original art. Each piece featured profiles of the Queen overlaid with quotations about wealth, poverty and social contribution. Quotations were contributed by members of the public and well-known names including Kojey Radical, Mike Soutar, Dave Buonaguidi (Real Hackney Dave) and Leigh Francis. DJs Femi Fem and Karistocat played to the two-hundred large guest-list, all of whom enjoyed craft beer provided by 3am Brewery.

The purpose of the exhibition was to raise awareness of the rising rates of homelessness and poverty in the UK, particularly following the pandemic. Richer Than was created to encourage others to continue their conversations about wealth and social justice, through the idea that with enough money anyone can be a superhero.

All 50 pieces in the exhibition were auctioned via The Auction Collective’s online platform, with all proceeds being donated to our charity partner. All pieces were sold, and in total over £15,000 was raised for The Big Issue Foundation.
