David Studwell
David Studwell is a British artist and printmaker whose bold silkscreens fuse sixties cool, pop iconography, and the raw underbelly of fame. A Central St Martins graduate with over 20 years of experience, he captures celebrities in striking moments—mug shots, screen tests, quiet reflections—rendered in vivid colour and gleaming diamond dust.
Channeling the spirit of Warhol with a modern twist, Studwell explores nostalgia, Americana, and the evolving role of photography. He collaborated with Elton John and Terry O’Neill on the celebrated Home Run – Dodger Stadium 1975, a screen print that made national headlines and supported the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
His work, exhibited internationally and owned by the likes of Kate Moss and Nile Rodgers, doesn’t just revisit the past—it reframes it with electric clarity. He has also collaborated with photographers Terry O’Neill, David Katz and Scarlet Page.
